How to select the best internet service.<Included order form>

This article is the researching document to select best internet service for you.

After you finished reading all,please answer some questions written in last part of this article then reply to me.

But this document is so long,that's why at first answer the questions then send me answers to my email. After that,please read this document carefully.

I can reserve one installation schedule of fiber optic modem installation team.
Let's get started.

Section 1
What is fiber optic internet?

Fiber optic internet is fastest and reliable internet service.
How many Fiber optic provider Japan have?

1.NTT east Flets Hikari
2.KDDI au hikari
3.So-net Nuro Hikari

4.NTT Flets compatible internet service(Docomo Hikari,OCN Hikari,Softbank Hikari and many)

Most of my customers select "NTT east Flets Hikari" Because installation schedule is quick.

Section 2
The differences of "NTTeast" and "KDDI" and "Nuro hikari" and "NTT Flets compatible service"

1.NTT east "Flets Hikari"
It takes at least 7-10days for customer to wait for installation work of the modem(or modem and router).
Downloading speed 1000Mbps,Uploading speed 1000Mbps(Best Effort Service,Logical maximum speed)
Data cap: Downloading:No Data Cap Uploading:25GigaByte a day
(You can watch Netflix a lot but Please don't use file exchange app and don't make your computer work as a server machine)
NTT node speed is about 975Mbps. But average speed depends on the quality of Internet service provider and customer's computer.

You can't use your american cable modem. but you can use your own american router.

Wifi function is basically included to the basic service plan(Not option contract). Max Wifi speed is 1300Mbps(802.11ac)

Monthly cost is almost 6000yen plus something. It depends on the installation fee.

Early cancellation penalty:9500yen(a house),1500yen(apartment)

Rest of installation fee: Ask your rep(Max 18000yen)

When former habitant used NTT fiber too,installation fee is just 2000yen.

Internet Moving service: 9000yen(to the house) 5000yen(to the apartment)

Activation fee: 800yen

2.KDDI "au Hikari"
It takes at least 25-40days for customer to wait for installation of the modem and router.
Downloading speed 1000Mbps,Uploading speed 1000Mbps(Best Effort Service,Logical maximum speed)
Data cap: Downloading:No Data Cap Uploading:25GigaByte a day
(You can watch Netflix a lot but Please don't use file exchange app and don't make your computer work as a server machine)

KDDI node speed is about 950Mbps. But average speed depends on the quality of Internet service provider and customer's computer.

You can't use your american cable modem. but you can use your own american router.

Wifi function is basically excluded to the basic service plan(option contract). Max Wifi speed is 450Mbps(802.11n)

Monthly cost is almost 6000yen.

Early cancellation penalty:9500yen(a house),9500yen(apartment)

Rest of installation fee: Ask your rep(Max 38000yen)

When former habitant used KDDI fiber too,Sorry same installation cost

Internet Moving service: Sorry you need to pay another installation fee

Activation fee: 800yen

If you need to cancel in just 1 year or something,I don't recommend this service.

3.So-net Nuro Hikari
It takes at least 30-60days for customer to wait for installation of the modem and router.

Installation available area is narrow. and it is so hard to install to the apartment.
Downloading speed 2000Mbps,Uploading speed 1000Mbps(Best Effort Service,Logical maximum speed). But one LAN port's max speed is 1000Mbps.
Data cap: Downloading:No Data Cap Uploading:25GigaByte a day
(You can watch Netflix a lot but Please don't use file exchange app and don't make your computer work as a server machine)

If you have big family,I recomend this service,Cos total speed 2000Mbps is comfortable.

But If you are single or live with a partner, One device's Max speed is 1000Mbps.

It's not so big difference from NTT and KDDI.

After I ordered this service,my customer has to communicate with Nuro's Japanese telephone operator to setup installation day. Often they send you important letter in Japanese. That's why I don't recommend this service now.

TIPS

Real speed depends on the customer's equipment and Internet service provider's quality.
Please check your computer's specification

especially CPU(MPU) and memory size and Wifi standard.

For example my main laptop's spec is MPU Intel Core i3,main memory 4Gbyte,LAN 100Mbps,Wifi 802.11ac 433Mbps
Then my internet speed of NTTeast Flets is 240Mbps(by Wifi) and 95Mbps(by LAN)
My desktop'spec is MPU Intel Core i3 too,main memory 8Gbyte and LAN 1000Mbps,Wifi adapter 802.11ac 867Mbps
Then my internet speed of NTTeast Flets is 780Mbps(by LAN) and 400Mbps(by Wifi)
Same internet,but different speed.

Section 3

About devices

NTT provides NTT giga modem, NTT giga router and NTT 802.11ac 1300Mbps Wifi.(All in one)
You don't need to buy your own devices.Those are a rental devices(Monthly fee is included).

That's why you need to return when you leaves from Japan to US or the other countries.

KDDI au Hikari and So-net Nuro Hikari are almost as same as NTTeast Flets Hikari.

But au Hikari router's Wifi and Nuro Hikari's Wifi is Max speed 450Mbps( 802.11n)

That's why if you wanna watch movies by streaming,I recommend NTT Giga service.

You can't use your american cable modem you used in US.
If you have a american router,you can use it as a Wifi bridge(Wifi extender)
If you live in VDSL apartment,NTT installs just modem. That's why please buy wifi router at PX or NEX onbase. Or electric shop off of the base. NTT lends you rental Wifi router too. But if you live in Japan over one year, I recommend you to buy your own Wifi router. Cos total cost is cheaper.

Service fee(NTT east Flets Hikari)
Fiber optic reguler monthly fee:5200yen/month(A house type)
Apartment type:2980yen - 3980yen/month(Each apartment is different monthly fee)
2 years long term contract's discount service: A house -700yen/month(renew every 2 years) Apartment -100yen/month(renew every 2 years)
Total : House type 4500yen +8%VAT/month
gigabit modem(router and wifi included) fee:500yen/month
gigabit discount :-300yen
Apartment type. Ask me about your apartment.

Installation fee of NTT
Initial installation fee:3000yen(One time)
monthly installation fee of the house:500yen/month(30 times)(500*30=15000yen)
monthly installation fee of the apartment:400yen/month(30 times)(400*30=12000yen)
Resistration fee(initialized fee):800yen(One time)

If your house has already been installed fiber optic outlet,installation fee is 2800yen only(One time)

Internet Service Provider (Japanese IP address and internet server provider) fee
A house type: 950 - 1200yen a month
Apartment type: 900 - 950 yen a month

Internet Service Provider is different company from NTT east.

Deposite cost: 20000yen
From December, we start deposite system.
It cost 20000yen.
We use this deposit money when you couldn't pay monthly fee then when internet company is going to cancel it. And when you couldn't pay final bill before you left from Japan.
If my customer lost paying final bill, especially cancellation fee,internet company will remove its cost from my salary and they charge me additional sales penalty. That's why we start this deposit system. Please understand about it.
When i have something remain of the deposite fee,i will transfer that money to you by western union or something similar service. That's why Please keep in touch with me after you left from Japan.

Total monthly fee of NTT
Ex,5200+1200-700+500+500-300=6500yen+8%VAT
apartment type service cost around 4500-5000yen a month.
it depends on how large your apartment is.

Payment option of NTT east
Defalt payment option:Paper bill
If you need to go to deployment for long month,give me money because NTT sends me paper bill every month. I can pay your bills while you won't be here.

Penalty of installation fee
If my customer cancelled NTT fiber optic service earlier than 30 months,That customer need to pay the rest of installation fee.for example when he cancelled 24 months later after installation, 30 months - 24 months =6 months left.That's why the rest of installation fee is 500yen*6 months=1800yen

Penalty of early cancellation
A house type is 9500yen.Minimum contractual period is 2 years.It will be renewd after 2 years and 4 years and 6 years. Apartment type is 1500yen.

NTT customer service call center: 6 language available included English.but all military person's contract name is ken kinoshita, that's why I can fix all problems.

About IP address provider(Internet service provider)
There are 6000 IP address providers in Japan,Every NTT fiber optic customer need to select at least 1 IP address provider.

1."RAKUTEN BB " (Recommend. so fast)
monthly fee:950yen per month(A house)/900yen(Apartment)
minimum contractual period: 12 months, after 12 months You can cancel it any time without cancellation fee.
Customer service:Japanese only
Speed:180Mbps-780Mbps(most fastest customer of me 780Mbps)
Average speed : 480mbps
Payment option:Creditcard or Yokohama Bank. Debitcard is inavailable.
Early cancellation fee is 5000yen.

Service quality: Good.

2."So-net" (Sorry,inavailable now)
monthly fee:1200yen per month(A house). 900yen per month(apartment). Minimum contractual period is nothing.
Early cancellation fee : nothing
Customer service : Japanese only
Speed :180Mbps-600Mbps
Average speed : 480mbps
Payment option : NTT finance,inc bills combination service with NTT east Flets Hikari.

Service quality: Good.

3."Biglobe" (Sorry,available now)
monthly fee:1200yen per month(A house)/950yen(Apartment)
Minimum contractual period:2 years(renew after 2 years)
Cancellation fee:5000yen
Customer service:Japanese only
Speed:180Mbps-400Mbps(Most fastest customer of mine 400Mbps)
Payment option:Paper bill or creditcard(No Debit) or Yokohama Bank
Service quality: Good.But often slow in the evening.

Can use bill combination service with NTT east.

4."Softbank BB" ( available now)
monthly fee:1200yen per month(A house)/950yen(Apartment)
Minimum contractual period:2 years
Cancellation fee:6000yen
Customer service:Japanese and English
Speed:180Mbps-600Mbps(Most fastest customer of mine 600Mbps)
Payment option: Creditcard(No Debit) or Yokohama Bank

Service quality: Not so good.

I recommend RAKUTEN BB now.

RakutenBB is the one company of most fastest internet.

And minimum contractual period is not so long. Service quality is good now.
If you have something problem with Rakuten, you can change another IP address provider easily. but be careful. RAKUTEN BB don't accept Navy Federal Red Card and Bank of America Debit card and all VISA debit card.
And RAKUTEN BB is so strict against File exchange app.
That's why if you wanna use file exchange app or wanna use big uploading service,I recommend YahooBB.

YahooBB is Softbank group that's why they don't check it cos they are not so neat. Haha

Caution
You can't use Navy federal red card and some other company's debit card as payment option.
You can use Navy Federal Red Card by one time payment at shop. but you can't use these card at monthly payment.
Navy federal Red card has reguler creditcard function too,but shop or company need to get DUNS number from US government as a US company
then has to resister shop info and company info to US department of defence and each military base in Japan.

Section 5

About installation work
Weekend installation work need 3000yen in additional.

1 day's installation schedule
AM installation work: Installation guys arrive between 9:00 & 12:00
PM installation work: Installation guys arrive between 13:00 & 17:00

You can't ask them to come for example 10:00 or 14:00 or 17:00
Cos They have 5 or 6 installation works a day.
when they finish former installation work,they call you then visit your house.

Installation guys do wiring then install device and setup modem part.
Earliest installation work is 60min,But always almost 2 hours is needed

I setup router function and Wifi functions and payment option,It takes at least 60min in additional
After 18:00, NTT can install too,But it costs 60000yen-80000yen.(expensive) night installation service is basically for busy shop or office.
